Advising on the development of over $100 million worth of student accommodation facilities in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, including land acquisition and arrangements with neighbouring land owners, fund-through development agreements with the ultimate owner of the buildings, construction contracts, FF&E supply arrangements and contract administration advice, including “The Switch” at 192-204 A’Beckett Street, Melbourne – a 600 bed facility.

On governance issues, including its relationship with the NSW Government, restructuring of arrangements with a counterparty providing on-campus student accommodation, arrangements with businesses resident on the campus including Cochlear and relationship issues with partner higher education providers including Navitas and Sydney Institute of Business and Technology. 

Acquisition of numerous development sites in Sydney and inner suburbs, and Canberra, including investment of equity capital from Singapore for Purpose Built Student Accommodation projects.

Acting on site acquisitions, development planning and leasing for the retirement communities and aged care living owner, operator and developer. 

Provided planning advice in respect of the Cardinal Freeman Village in Ashfield, including acting in proceedings in the Land and Environment Court. 

Founders of a retirement village developer/operator in relation to their +A$800 million of senior and mezzanine facilities to support the management buyout of the group.
